If Your System Just Discharged
Call the fire department first, even if the fire is out. Leave the gas and electric off. Do not scrape or rinse the agent off the appliances, and do not fire the line back up. Then call us — discharge recharges go to the front of the queue, because until the system is recharged, the links replaced, the detection retested and the residue cleaned, the kitchen cannot legally cook.
What Helps When You Call
None of this is required, but it saves a trip:
- Roughly how many extinguishers, and whether any are CO₂ or wheeled units
- The brand on your suppression cylinder if you have a hood — Ansul, Amerex, Pyro-Chem, Range Guard, Kidde, CaptiveAire or Lehavot
- The date on your current tag
- Whether anything on the cooking line has moved since the system went in
